I created this layout with the beautiful Bird Ballad DSP and the Free as a Bird stamp set. This DSP has certainly been a favorite of mine from the Annual Catalog. I purchased a few packs knowing that I would be using it a lot. The colors in this DSP are some of my favorites.
For page 1, I CASE’d the catalog for the bird tag (you can find that on page 90 where it is used on a copper tin). A variety of blends were used to color the images and then the Light Pool Party Blend was used to shadow around the image. I took a scrap piece of the bird cage DSP and adhered it to the top before punching it out with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. Then the Scalloped Lace Trim, Linen Thread and Bird Ballad Trinket were added. The sentiment is versamarked and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder. I stamped the smallest floral image in the set in Calypso Coral and fussy cut it as well as fussy cut a group of the Calypso Coral flowers.
I chose to fussy cut the birds from the DSP as they are larger than the stamp set and I want the birds and sentiment to be the focal point on page 2. The Stitched Nested Labels Dies were used for the sentiment and I pulled out the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Cards for the journaling section which was a last minute add.
