Today I am sharing a custom Christening Keepsake Card that I created for my customer who is the Godmother to a baby boy. I have combined some “retired” and “new” Stampin’ Up! product to create this project. I am so glad that I hang on to some of my favorite stamp sets and dies that retire from the Stampin’ Up! catalogs. On this particular project I used the “Hold on to Hope” Bundle.
This is the gift box/envelope that is belly banded. The box measures about 9-1/2″ long, 4″ wide and 1/4″ in depth.
The card is protected by a sheet of vellum.
I ensure that all locations where there is adhesive of any kind showing through is covered up. Here, the adhesive behind the lace circle design is covered up on the back with an additional lace circle.
And here the Tear & Tape on the back of the Vellum is hidden by the gold embossed cross image.
I used a retired “rotary” style letter labeler to create the child’s name and the “God Bless” as the stamp set was limited. All of the crosses on this card that are die-cut are from the “Cross of Hope” die set. My customer will be hanging the cross down the center of this card which may require two small notches at the top. Once she has the cross we will work on including the cross and figuring out the mechanics of that.
Here you can see a few close ups of the details on the inside of the card and the belly band.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Come back soon for more ideas using this same layout.
