Welcome to my first post with the Creation Station Blog Hop Team. I am very excited to be creating with these very talented crafters. The theme for January is “How to be a Millionaire” which focuses around a Million Dollar Sales Achievers stamp set.
I was immediately drawn to the stamp set Happy Thoughts inspired by Million Dollar Sales Achiever, Jackie Bolhuis. The sentiments are perfect for this project. I am pairing this stamp set, with the black & white DSP called True Love that will debut along with the Happy Thoughts stamp set in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.
For the base of the card I took an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock and cut it in half on the 11″ side so that each piece measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. Both are scored on the long side at 4 1/4″. The right side of one piece is glued to the left side of the other piece with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
There are several patterns of the True Love DSP used on this card – first the larger floral piece is used for the front of the card cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and liquid glued. A piece of Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White Cardstocks are run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Rectangle Stitched Dies. Prior to adhering these pieces to the card front, the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon is wrapped around the whole card so that you can tie a bow on the right side. The Flirty Flamingo Cardstock is adhered on top of the ribbon with Tear & Tape for a strong hold and then the Whisper White Cardstock is added with Dimensionals.
I added the Flirty Flamingo DSP with the tiny print words on it as well as pieces of the floral image with a black background from the True Love DSP. I created the tag by adding a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to the polka dot DSP and punched a hole with a hole puncher and snipped the top edges off on an angle. The Whisper White Twine is added to the tag. A strip of Basic Black Cardstock is run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the scalloped die from the Stitched Be Mine Dies.
I then colored some flowers and leaves with the dark and light Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Blends. They are then fussy cut and adhered to the pages with liquid glue. I took one of the sentiments and heat embossed it on Basic Black Cardstock with Versamark, White Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. Since I really wanted to use this set in a way that focused on the words, I carefully cut the words apart in groupings so that a section appears as you open each page of the card ending with the large sentiment that you might normally find on the front of the card.
To finish off the card I used a Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker and splattered it all over the card and then added Wink of Stella and some Basic Jewel Rhinestones. The envelope is completed with a colored flower and fussy cut and liquid glued to the envelope.
I hope you enjoyed my first project with Creation Station. Enjoy the Bonus Projects below – see you next month!
BONUS PROJECTS
I used the Hippo & Friends and Tasteful Labels Dies to create the centers. The flowers are cut with dark and light Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight Blends. The Happy Thoughts stamp set as well as the Woven Heirlooms stamp set are used in these cards.
