Welcome to this month’s Creation Station Blog Hop featuring projects using Sale-a-Bration products that coordinate with products from the Annual Catalog.
For my project this month, I have chosen one of my go-to stamp sets called Hand-Penned Petals and paired it up with the Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper called Beautifully Penned (available for free with a $50.00 purchase starting August 4th).
I absolutely love a good pack of black & white paper and excited that Stampin’ Up! has included this stack of 12 x 12 designs. I will be getting a lot of use out of it and will probably be earning a few more packs with every $50 order I place from now through September 30th. I will also be using it in some memory keeping projects as well.
When I design I tend to gravitate towards floral stamp sets. I don’t know much at all about flowers and gardening, but I do enjoy using them in my crafting projects as it is a source of happiness for me. Flowers bring me joy whether I’m using bright and cheerful colors as in the card in this post or the more rich and bold colors that are used around the holidays in the Fall and Winter.
As you can see here on the tag that was created with the Tailor Made Tags (a favorite with so many sizes and options) I used bright Blends to color the flowers. I added a piece of Basic Black Cardstock so that I could emboss a sentiment with White Emboss Powder. The Blends really make the floral image from the Hand-Penned Petals pop. The image is adhered to the Vellum with Black Dimensionals. Wink of Stella is added to the flowers (also added to the inside of the card and the envelope).
For the inside I decided to use a different floral image from the stamp set. Although this stamp set has fill images for these flowers, I decided that throughout the card and envelope I would color the flowers rather than stamp them. Sometimes coloring is very relaxing and our Blends make it so easy to make the images more dramatic with the lighter and darker shades of each color.
Don’t forget to make your envelope look stunning! When it arrives at the recipients home I am sure they will be pleasantly surprised!
Next up on the hop is the lovely Denita Wright-Smee. Be sure to head on over to her page to see what she is sharing.
Have a great day!
