Welcome to the February Creation Station Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Cute Critters. I will admit that I was feeling a little intimidated by this theme. I’ve owned the Special Someone stamp set for a long time and have never used it for anything other than the sentiments so I decided that it was time to ink up the cute little animals/critters in this set.
For the first card I used the heart balloon image since it is February and Valentine’s Day is coming up. The Old World Paper and Subtles 3D Embossing Folders are used for the background papers. Garden Green Cardstock and the Perennial Petals Dies make up the leaves, and the tag is created with the Fancy Tag Topper punch. Poppy Parade Cardstock, Ink and Marker is used for the bow and the balloon.
A simple heart balloon is stamped on the envelope above and the inside for a little accent.
For the next card I took the small flower image in the stamp set and inked it up with Versamark randomly stamping it all over the Basic Black Cardstock, dipped it in White Emboss Powder and then applied the Heat Tool. The same is done with the sentiments. The larger flowers are colored with Flirty Flamingo Blends. The Raccoon is stamped in Early Espesso Ink and then with Sahara Sand Ink.
The flagged banners up at the top left are made up of a wood grain paper from the In Good Taste DSP, the B&W stripe is from the True Love DSP and the small words come from the Regals 6×6 DSP.
I stepped up the inside of this card with a piece of the Forever Greenery DSP and then topped it with a piece of Basic White Cardstock. The grass is cut and sponged with Garden Green Cardstock, Ink and a Stampin’ Sponge.
Hope you enjoyed this month’s projects.
