Thinking of You – Blessings of Home
This is the feel good DIY handmade card from my Facebook live. I always go live on Thursday nights at 7pm EST. If you are looking for the perfect card for someone that needs a little happy mail, then this is it! A lovely pairing for a beautiful card can be found in the Blessings of Home Bundle, which I am loving!
It’s perfect for a variety of projects and the florals are so much fun to color.
The Colors
I colored in the flowers using Fresh Freesia, Daffodil Delight, & Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends. These colors compliment each other so well and the Mint Macaron brings a freshness to the center of the card.
You can see how this card came together in my tutorial video below! Don’t forget to head to my YouTube channel and hit that subscribe button so you don’t miss out on future tutorials! I post a new video every Friday.
The DIY Handmade Card Details
I cut out some additional greenery pieces using the coordinating Flowers of Home Dies to add under the colorful flowers, which added depth. White embossing powder is perfect to use on darker colors. My favorite sentiments are bold and really standout!
So the sentiment “Thinking of You” was stamped in Versamark ink on a strip of Basic Black Cardstock, embossed with Whisper White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heated with the Heat Tool and tucked under the floral bouquet.
Adding the Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and pairing it with the Simply Elegant Trim gave great texture to the bow, in my opinion.
And then the In-Color Jewels were sprinkled on top of the Basic White Cardstock, to give it a little bling-bling!
Of course I love to use the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the Basic White Cardstock.
The focal points of this card were layered on top of some Designer Series Paper (I used the Fresh Freesia floral print here) and that was also embossed using the same folder as the Basic White Cardstock. And then I cut the edges using the Penned Flowers Dies.
Adding some background interest with the Fresh Freesia floral print paper from the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper stack really brought this card together!
By layering DSP on a Basic White card base makes for such a clean look and I absolutely love it! Also, this base is cut lengthwise to open upwards rather than to the side.
The cute little flowers made their way inside the card, too! It’s a fun little peek-a-boo for the recipient when they open the card to read the message. I just love to get a card in the mail and I know a lot of my family and friends do, too!
